The 5P Personal Development Model

At the core of our work is the 5P Personal Development Model, a structured yet relational framework designed to support participants in five key areas: Passion, Promise, Peace, Purpose, & Power.

This model responds to the developmental, social, and emotional needs of youth and young adults navigating education, workforce readiness, identity formation, and key life transitions.

  • Passion – Identifying gifts, interests, and creative or vocational strengths

  • Promise – Understanding personal responsibility, integrity, and commitment

  • Peace – Supporting emotional wellness, mental health awareness, and healthy coping skills

  • Purpose – Clarifying life direction, goals, and pathways toward meaningful contribution

  • Power – Building confidence, leadership capacity, self-advocacy, and practical life skills

Young People Future Leaders

Young People Future Leaders is a transformative 24-week leadership development program for 5–10 participants ages 16–29. Through weekly 2-hour sessions and hands-on experiences, participants embark on a structured journey of self-discovery and empowerment guided by our 5P Development Model: Passion, Peace, Promise, Purpose, and Power.

Young People's Advisory Council

The Young People's Advisory Council brings together 5 young leaders ages 16–29 who meet monthly to help shape our youth programming. YPAC members share their lived experiences and insights on current challenges facing young people, ensuring our programs remain relevant and responsive to real needs.

Mentor Engagement Program

The Mentor Engagement Program provides consistent relational guidance to participants enrolled in the Young People Advisory Cohort (YPAC) and Young People Future Leaders Program (YPFL). This program aligns with OLLC’s broader mission to build resilient, purpose-driven individuals across the DMV region.

Minimum 6 month engagement required.
